We will NOT chose the side of the oppressor because this is Oakland, aka Wokeland, aka Oakanda, aka Black Panther territory. Standing idle as we watch the spirit of Oakland change right before our eyes is not a option. Alena is going public to tell our experience with the injustices of racism and displacement. We hope to give inspiration and hope to the countless individuals, families, arts spaces, and businesses that are dealing with this noninclusive makeover of Oakland. In addition, as a developing nonprofit, we are using this experience as the catalyst to take our mission to the next level and expand our vision and impact in these 3 ways:

We will gather the creative voices and collective power of our community and allies to demonstrate and speak out against the private investors, developers, and politicians who are set out to broaden the gap of wealth at the expense of the people.  We as citizens will not go unheard.  Displacing the community will not be a silent fight.  Stand up for you, your family, your neighbors, and your community as we are witnessing gentrification destroying the cultural fabric of Oakland. VOLUNTEER/PERFORM
