Alena Museum is a cultural placekeeping nonprofit with the mission of providing critical safe spaces for peoples of the African diaspora and beyond. We challenge systems of white supremacy through public art activism and the provision of resources and mentorship to nourish the artistic and entrepreneurial endeavors of Black communities, and beyond.

Development has come at the cost of Black Health, Land Ownership, and Belonging. Now’s the time to reclaim the urban landscape. We cultivate community ownership and creative control through art activations and installations,

Rooted in West Oakland, CA, we are breaking silos and conventions in neighborhood planning to build belonging across the African Diaspora.

Through numerous creative collaborations and events, Alena Museum’s family has grown to include some serious talent.
